My turn had once again came this year.<\/p>\n<p>I wanted to showcase a &#8220;Tsuri-Bana&#8221; using Mangetsu (Full moon) container.<br \/>\nIt is a simple (Wabi Sabi) arrangement.<br \/>\nBut, the size is small, and I have to have something to hang the Mangetsu container.<\/p>\n<p>So, I decided to make a Byoubu (paper-screen room devider) Japanese screen with windows.<br \/>\nI had brought Japanese Fusuma paper with flower patterns from Japan, with which I made the two-fold Japanese Byoubu.  It took about a week to make this byoubu from scratch.<br \/>\nThe windows are shaped in hexagonal shapes, indicating Ikenobo&#8217;s Rokkaku-do Temple in Kyoto, Japan, the originating place of Japan&#8217;s Ikebana flower arrangement more than 550 years ago in 1460&#8217;s.<\/p>\n<p>Because Mangetsu container is made of copper, I wanted to use a gold-colored container and a silver-colored container to complete Gold, Silver and Copper theme.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp_images\/ConsulateGeneralParty201712\/PC110021-1aa_m.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp_images\/ConsulateGeneralParty201712\/PC110017-1a_m.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp_images\/ConsulateGeneralParty201712\/PC110004_m.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp_images\/ConsulateGeneralParty201712\/PC110017-1ax.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp_images\/ConsulateGeneralParty201712\/xPC110025-1ax.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<p>I also made two flower decoration pieces on the reception desk.<br \/>\nThis one uses a plastic Christmas ball-shaped ornament as a vase, and a banana hanger as a stand.  The top of the plastic Christmas ball was removed and the hole was expanded large enough to pour water in it and place flowers.  I made additional holes near the top of the ball to put a fishing thread through so that I can hang the ball to the top of the banana hanger.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp_images\/ConsulateGeneralParty201712\/PC110028-1a_m.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<p>This one also uses a plastic Christmas ball-shaped ornament as a vase, and a paper towel holder as a stand.
